www.hmag.org.uk Contains a rich and exotic mixture of fine paintings and china, the cultures of other lands, well-known personalities such as John Logie Baird and Robert Tressell, and a contrasting view of local wildlife today and as it would have been 150 million years ago.
There are plenty of special features for children, with fossils that transform into dinosaurs, prehistoric crocodiles and fish, a diorama of local animals and birds, Native American Galleries complete with tipi and buffalo, and a display on Hastings born conservationist, Grey Owl. There are displays on the Mods and Rockers, and Seaside Hastings in the 20th century. The most spectacular part of the Museum is the magnificent Durbar Hall constructed for the Indian and Colonial Exhibition of 1886 as part of an Indian Palace. It now contains Museums' collection of World Art, and displays on the life of the Brassey family with artefacts collected on their voyages around the world in the 19th century.
The Local Studies Room provides access to the Museum's archive and reserve collections, including the Burton Collection, Borough records and title deeds, as well as large collections of photographs, maps and ephemera. Wheelchair access, parking and refreshment area.Hastings Old Town Pottery

High Street, Old Town. 01424 451052 Provides an introduction to the history of the Old Town of Hastings and is arranged as a walk back in time from the 20th century to Prehistory. The building is fully accessible, and contains a wealth of historic exhibits, interactive models and reconstructions.

Hastings History House, 21 Courthouse Street, Old Town, 10am - 4pm If you are interested in learning how to record people's memories, John Hildreth will share his experiences of how this is done. An event for anyone who is interested in people's lives and particularly those who associate with older people in the community.

We all have valuable memories and these are being built up every day. The official Old Hastings Preservation Society walk, with experienced guides is gently downhill and takes approx 90 minutes, visiting the many historical and picturesque sites of Hastings Old Town. With representatives of Bonfire Societies from across Sussex marking the anniversary of the discovery and foiling of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605. Commences from The Stade, up All Saints Street and down the High Street to and along the promenade, turning right at Albert Road, into Queens Road turning at the junction of South Terrace back to the Town Hall to be joined by the Mayor, other officials and the Town Criers. Our own Town Crier reads the declaration of the America Ground, the procession continues across the America Ground (Robertson Street) to the promenade and finishes at Pelham Place car park.
Fireworks and Bonfire Pelham Beach. 9.15pm
Hastings Borough Bonfire Society and Renegade Pyrotechnic Firework Display Bonfire on the beach with our famous effigy. One of the UK's largest, loudest and most extraordinary firework displays and one of the UK's largest Bonfires.
Collections for local charities. Please give generously as all money collected goes to charity.

The Bowskill Trophy Presented in memory of Cyril Bowskill who, with his wife Joan, was a great supporter of Hastings Week. From a majority vote based on public nominations, it is given to a person, group or organisation who has done most to promote the prestige of the week.
