Bohemia Road, Hastings. 01424 451052 www.hmag.org.uk Contains a rich and exotic mixture of fine paintings and china, the cultures of other lands, well-known personalities such as John Logie Baird and Robert Tressell, and a contrasting view of local wildlife today and as it would have been 150 million years ago. There are plenty of special features for children, with fossils that transform into dinosaurs, prehistoric crocodiles and fish, a diorama of local animals and birds, Native American Galleries complete with tipi and buffalo, and a display on Hastings born conservationist, Grey Owl. There are displays on the Mods and Rockers, and Seaside Hastings in the 20th century. The most spectacular part of the Museum is the magnificent Durbar Hall constructed for the Indian and Colonial Exhibition of 1886 as part of an Indian Palace. It now contains MuseumsÕ collection of World Art, and displays on the life of the Brassey family with artefacts collected on their voyages around the world in the 19th century.The Local Studies Room provides access to the Museum's archive and reserve collections, including the Burton Collection, Borough records and title deeds, as well as large collections of photographs, maps and ephemera. The Hastings Rarities Affair 24th September to 2nd January
Hastings Museum An exhibition of work by 13 artists, inspired by the infamous ornithological scandal. The work on display has been brought together in an installation which includes paintings and drawings, photography, sound, sculpture and textiles. 11am - 4pm daily. Pop into the Fishermen's Museum, the Shipwreck Museum and then the Blue Reef Aquarium cafe to see an exhibition of the winning entries to the My Stade open photography competition. See the public's pictorial responses to the question "What does the Stade mean to you?" This exhibition represents Hastings' first ever participation in the prestigious Brighton Photo Fringe festival. Organised by the Stade Education Project, the Fishermen's Protection Society, and Phg (Photo Hub Hastings for Brighton Photo Fringe).

Best Dressed Old Town Shop Window '1066 and all that' themed displays will be up in Old Town Shop windows throughout the week. The Pam Brown OBE trophy is presented to the winner and the Ray Goode Memorial trophy to the runner-up at a reception later in the year.
