And who's this observer?

At 11am on Sunday June 13th a crowd gathered to hear how the new parking scheme was benefitting them and the town. I am reliably informed that they left unconvinced. We did learn that a large chunk of advice came from the East Sussex County Council hidden away in Lewes and that any revenues are to be split with them. Unfortunately they have more highway powers than Hastings Borough Council so we have to do as we are told by these highwaymen. Those that didn't do politics at school should understand that County Councils usually have more powers than Borough Councils because they are bigger. The person to have a go at, and he DOES get paid for it, is the Director of Transport and Environment, Robert E. Wilkins MSC, C.eng, MICE. and you can write to him (and demand a reply) at Sackville House, Brooke Close, Lewes, East Sussex  Post Code tel: xxxxx yyyyyy or e-mail him - [email protected]

Another rally will be taking place on Wednesday. June 16th, starting at 5pm, simultaneously from Alexandra Park (behind Southern Water's awful mess) and the Boating Lake on the Stade to meet ouside McDonalds and converge on the Town Hall for a peaceful demonstration. - more details - Ian Porter ?????? or Tony Shields ??????
