An Icon after the style of Michael Damascenos

This is an icon painted by me about 16 years ago. I did not decide to start painting it. One day I simply began to prepare the board, I used polyfilla ™ and fabric back and front. Scored the design into the surface after pricking through drafting paper onto which I had copied the outline taken from a similar work by the 15th century artist and draughtsman Michael Damascenos.

The basilica at the bottom of the painting is my addition to balance the shape of the board. In the absence of the correct pigments I utilised Humbrol ™ model paints from which I drained the varnish.

The music is chosen to annoy the joyless old sod.
