The fate of the contestants was in their hands, the judges, left Paul Joy, President of the Fishermen's Protection Society, Bet Hodgson, herself a Hastings Old Town Carnival Queen in 1970 and Richard Neale, Editor in Chief of the Hastings Observer, one of the sponsors of the event.
This years selection evening was once again held at the Hastings and St.Leonards Angling Association's Club House, and these pictures were posted within hours of the event.
